Ready, Set, GROW!
On the night of our grade 8 graduation my mom took a picture of me and my cousin Doug standing in a corner of our church basement. At 5 feet 11 inches tall, I towered over Doug, who craned his neck to be seen above my elbow and raised his diploma in the air to even things up.
Flash forward four years to our grade 12 graduation. Same cousins, same basement, same photographer, and—at last—same height. Doug’s prayers for growth were answered!
Although our height hasn’t changed since then, God is still “growing”me and my cousin Doug. God is constantly challenging us to dig deeper and reach wider when it comes to our faith. God wants to grow you in the same way!
That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about the upcoming GROW conference. It’s an opportunity for you and everyone else with a passion for children’s ministry to grow together. And this year Faith Alive is taking our annual conference on the road so that we can connect with as many of you as possible.
Join us and children’s ministry leaders from across North America as we GROW together on August 1-2 in Orland Park, Illinois (that’s really close to Chicago—Magnificent Mile anyone?) and on October 17-18 in Langley, British Columbia (visit Vancouver and check out the 2010 Olympic village before the athletes get there).
At the GROW conference you will
- learn from leaders like Bob Keeley, author of Helping Our Children Grow in Faith: Nurturing the Spiritual Development of Kids. (In addition to being a father of four and a very smart education professor, Bob also happens to be a funny guy and a great storyteller.)
- attend inspiring workshops led by curriculum writers, editors, and children’s ministry leaders who are passionate about bringing kids one step closer to God.
- GROW as you’re fed in sessions on connecting with families, dealing with discipline, reaching your neighborhood, feeding your soul, marking faith milestones, making music, and praying with kids.
- explore Kid Connection and Walk With Me in fun workshops designed to help you and your kids get the most out of each session.
pick up teaching tips and ideas that you can really use.
(And did we mention that you can teach the same workshop sessions at your church later? Yup, you can!)
